For our Air Investigation in Science today we made parachutes to observe air resistance.
Observations:
"We used a napkin, string, a paper clip, and stickers" to assemble the parachute.
"The parachute could catch the wind and float."
Concept: Air resistance makes the parachute fall slowly.
We took the parachutes outside to "float" them in the wind.
[Students were allowed (at this time ONLY) to stand on a bench or post to provide more height for their parachute to work properly. Students were supervised at all times during this activity.]
